I apologize for the lengthy post here but.......
With it being the start of the week, I look back on 2014 and realize this year seemed to be an epic year for the Society. Lots of events, great meetups and a BIG bump in membership. We kicked off the River City Comic Expo and turned heads at the Mid City Mall (thank you John & Kim Wilson). And not enough can be said about the Derby City Comic Con and the epic time we all had there, (Thank you Chuck Moore and Ginny Tonic). The Courier Journal newspaper featured us (and the Odditorium) and plans are already underway for us to be a part of DCCC 2015.
June also brought our 3 Year Anniversary with a record turnout of 48 in attendance with support from friends and members from as far away as Northern Indiana and parts of Ohio.
There were lots of trips to Cincinnati where we had a strong Society presence at the Midsummer Masquerade at the Loveland Castle with several members attending for their first time.
Both the Society and the Odditorium were present at the Kentucky Renn Fair this year and we took a tour of the Louisville Water Tower where we held our first ever Nerf Duel Championship with 1st Place and Top Gun title going to Richter Omega,
our Steampunk Werewolf from the Traveling Odditorium.
We were asked to take part in the Yelp* Corporate Elite party at the Alchemy Mercantile Shop
in downtown Louisville and were very well received there.
We made our mark on the Pandora Society's online contests
with 4 of our members winning in 3 categories.
Then came the Zombie Attack 2014 which featured the first sighting of the
Corn Island Steampunk's "Dead Pirate Society" - everyone seemed to have fun attending.
We also had a return visit to the Louisville Ghostwalk Tour, our 3rd year doing that. The Tour will be a featured side event for those attending the Louisville Temporal Faire next Fall.
And we just recently had the pleasure of attending the wedding of two of our members, Caitlyn & Adam Fetz. We wish them well as they go on their way as one and thanks for allowing the Society to celebrate in your ceremony. It's gonna be different addressing the two of you now as Mr. & Mrs.
The Caufield's Parade got rained out but our last big Hoorah! of the year is coming up in just a couple weeks with the Belle of Louisville Halloween Scaryoke and Dance Cruise on the 24th.
We will also have a booth set up at the OC3, Oldham County Comic Con on Saturday, November 8th and will be attending the Derby City Comic Con Cavalcade of Comics on Saturday, November 22nd in full Steampunk attire. Please try and attend these events and help those who help us.

We will not be meeting in November and December due to the holidays
as this is a time for us to take a step back, regroup and plan certain events and meets for next year.
Our last official meet of 2014 is this Sunday, October 19th at Kingfish on the River, in Jeffersonville, Indiana, where we will host our first ever Steampumpkin Decorating Contest and Masquerade Meet. We would appreciate it if everyone would come in full Steampunk garb
so that we can get one last good group photo for the book.
And with that, once again, I'd like to thank each and everyone of you
for all that you have put into making this dream a reality.
It's because of you we stand strong as we go out in 2014.
Special thanks to those who donated door prizes throughout the year,
THAT was/is GREATLY appreciated.
All this, because of you, you and you, I only hope that YOU will return once again in 2015

as we try and make it even better than before.
Blue Skies and Best Wishes,
